Performance-Based for Different Project Requirements

Category B - Drainage, Slopes, and Earth Retention

Category B is designed for applications where soil confinement, erosion control, and structural stability are required under moderate loading conditions.

  • Drainage channels and channel protection
  • Retaining walls and earth retention
  • Slope protection
  • Lower-demand load support

Key indicators:

  • Cumulative permanent deformation limit <= 2.0%,
  • Elastic stiffness +30° C >750 MPa
  • Cell hoop tensile strength > 16 kN/m,
  • Seam weld strength > 16 kN/m,
  • UV / oxidation durability >= 1600 minutes HP-OIT.

Category C - Roads and Base Reinforcement

Neoloy Tough-Cells Categories

Category C is designed for paved and unpaved road applications where the cells must support improved load distribution and long-term base stabilization.

  • Unpaved access roads
  • Paved asphalt roads
  • Road base reinforcement
  • Road shoulders
  • Access roads over weak soils
  • Industrial and project access roads

Key indicators:

  • Cumulative permanent deformation limit <= 2.0%,
  • Elastic stiffness +30°C >1250 MPa
  • Cell hoop tensile strength > 19 kN/m,
  • Seam weld strength > 19 kN/m,
  • UV / oxidation durability >= 1600 minutes HP-OIT.

Category D - Heavy-Duty Infrastructure

Category D is designed for the most demanding infrastructure applications, where high loads, dynamic loading, weak soils, and long design-life expectations require the highest geocell performance level.

  • Railways and sub-ballast reinforcement
  • Ports and working platforms
  • Airports and heavy-duty pavements
  • Mining roads
  • Heavy-duty access roads
  • Load support over very soft or challenging soils

Key indicators:

  • Cumulative permanent deformation limit <= 2.0%,
  • Elastic stiffness +30°C >1900 MPa,
  • Cell hoop tensile strength > 22 kN/m,
  • Seam weld strength > 22 kN/m,
  • UV / oxidation durability >= 1600 minutes HP-OIT.
